Controller
<p>We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a boutique construction firm in Sebastopol, California. This role involves overseeing financial operations, leading the accounting team, and collaborating closely with the Owner and project managers to ensure accurate job costing and profitability analysis. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in time and material billing, with a strong ability to streamline processes and implement effective policies.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.</p><p>• Oversee month-end close processes and prepare comprehensive financial statements.</p><p>• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.</p><p>• Collaborate with project managers and the Owner to analyze job costing and profitability metrics.</p><p>• Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.</p><p>• Coordinate with banks and vendors to manage financial relationships and transactions.</p><p>• Prepare detailed annual financial plans and corporate financial strategies.</p><p>• Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements to identify trends and opportunities.</p><p>• Manage fixed and capital assets, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.</p>
<p>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.</p><p>• Expertise in AIA billing and job costing within architecture, engineering, construction, or detail-focused services.</p><p>• Strong skills in preparing and analyzing financial statements.</p><p>• Proven ability to develop annual financial plans and corporate strategies.</p><p>• Experience with financial reconciliation and fixed asset management.</p><p>• Familiarity with time and material billing practices.</p><p>• Ability to implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.</p><p>• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with stakeholders and vendors.</p><p><br></p><p>For immediate consideration, please call Amanda Howell at 707-578-3355.</p>
