Accounting Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this Contract position, you will play a vital role in managing high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting operations and a commitment to excellence.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.<br>• Perform monthly close procedures, maintaining compliance with established accounting standards.<br>• Prepare reconciliations for cash accounts and other balance sheet items to ensure accuracy.<br>• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account reconciliations, providing clear documentation.<br>• Implement and refine procedures to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.<br>• Handle check runs and ensure all payments are processed in alignment with company policies.<br>• Collaborate with team members to support organizational accounting goals.<br>• Maintain adherence to company values, operating principles, and applicable laws.<br>• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in accounting practices.<br>• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting processes, including accounts payable, accruals, monthly close, and reconciliations.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with strong skills in formulas and data analysis.<br>• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.<br>• Prior experience in the banking industry is preferred.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective relationships.<br>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Self-motivated with a commitment to process improvement and achieving goals.
