Accounting Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join a financial services organization in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract position focuses on providing essential support for financial reconciliation, account balancing, and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure the integrity of financial operations.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Investigate and resolve discrepancies within financial systems and reports to ensure accuracy.<br>• Assist in creating and reviewing reconciliation schedules for general ledger accounts.<br>• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities by performing timely reconciliations.<br>• Conduct account balancing and validation processes to maintain financial accuracy.<br>• Organize and maintain documentation and audit trails for reconciliation tasks.<br>• Collaborate with various departments to collect data and address outstanding financial items.<br>• Provide administrative support such as data entry, report generation, and filing of accounting records.<br>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices.<br>• Utilize tools like Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and other financial systems to perform tasks effectively.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation methods.<br>• Proficiency in financial tools such as Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) and QuickBooks.<br>• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.<br>• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.<br>• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.<br>• Excellent communication and organizational skills.<br>• Familiarity with coding invoices and performing three-way matching processes.<br>• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial support roles.
