Staff Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Salem, Oregon. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting year-end financial activities and audit preparations. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting expertise and a commitment to delivering accurate results within tight deadlines.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.<br>• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain financial integrity.<br>• Utilize Oracle software to streamline accounting processes and ensure compliance.<br>• Assist with year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation.<br>• Support the preparation and execution of year-end audits, adhering to government regulations.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data for audit purposes.<br>• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to ensure accuracy.<br>• Provide detailed documentation and reports to support audit requirements.<br>• Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and government audit guidelines.
• Proven experience with journal entries and general ledger management.<br>• Proficiency in Oracle software and other accounting tools.<br>• Strong knowledge of year-end closing processes and audit preparation.<br>• Familiarity with government audit procedures and compliance requirements.<br>• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Effective communication and teamwork skills.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
