Payroll Specialist
<p>A well-established Manufacturing & Distribution company in Ronkonkoma is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support their high-volume, multi-state weekly payroll. This role is onsite, temp-to-perm, and ideal for someone who is strong in payroll operations and comfortable learning an existing process — no implementation work required.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Position Overview</u></strong></p><p>The Payroll Specialist will manage and process weekly payroll for 500–1,000 employees across multiple states. The focus is payroll operations, not HR generalist work, though there are limited HR-adjacent tasks. This person will be the main point of contact for ensuring accurate and timely payroll through ADP Workforce Now.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p><p><u>Payroll Processing:</u></p><ul><li>Process weekly payroll for 500–1,000 employees using ADP Workforce Now</li><li>Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll rules (two state codes)</li><li>Review and audit timecards, hours, and pay codes for accuracy</li><li>Manage Time & Attendance data prior to payroll submission</li><li>Run payroll reports, verify totals, and troubleshoot discrepancies</li></ul><p><u>Employee Lifecycle Tasks:</u></p><ul><li>Assist with i9 verification, new-hire paperwork, and ADP onboarding</li><li>File new hires in applicable payroll systems and state portals</li><li>Support garnishments, direct deposit updates, and employee payroll inquiries</li></ul><p><u>Administration & Reporting:</u></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation</li><li>Coordinate with HR Manager regarding weekly delegated duties</li><li>Produce payroll summaries and reports as needed for management</li><li>Handle confidential payroll information with strict professionalism</li></ul>
<p>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.</p><p>• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance.</p><p>• Experience managing payroll for over 500-1000 employees weekly.</p><p>• Familiarity with Time & Attendance systems and onboarding workflows.</p><p>• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.</p><p>• Strong communication skills and the ability to work onsite Monday through Friday.</p><p>• Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution industries is a plus, though not mandatory.</p>
