We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Oak Brook, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions, including full-cycle accounts payable tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with professionals in the wholesale distribution industry and contribute to critical financial operations. Responsibilities:• Handle full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, 3-way matching, and supplier statement reconciliations.• Manage accruals and provide support during financial audits related to accounts payable.• Execute payment runs, including checks and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, with precision and timeliness.• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining high accuracy in financial records.• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager to address discrepancies and resolve payment-related issues.• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including creating pivot tables and performing advanced functions.• Communicate effectively with managers, team members, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.• Identify and implement improvements in accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency.• Independently plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.• Support system-related tasks, including working within organizational ERP systems. • Proven experience in full-cycle accounts payable, including 3-way match and supplier reconciliations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, as well as Word and Outlook. • Familiarity with ERP systems used in financial operations. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex issues in accounts payable. • Solid understanding of ACH transactions, check runs, and invoice coding. • Ability to plan and execute tasks efficiently to meet organizational goals.
