We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting audit preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with government accounting experience and strong technical skills. Responsibilities:• Prepare detailed schedules and documentation required for state auditors.• Oversee and ensure proper accounting for capital assets.• Perform general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.• Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.• Support payroll transitions and integrations, including Paylocity.• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.• Maintain compliance with municipal accounting regulations and standards.

• Proven experience in accounting, preferably within a government or municipal setting. • Proficiency in Springbrook and Paylocity software is strongly preferred. • Strong understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes. • Familiarity with lease reporting standards and capital asset accounting. • Ability to prepare schedules and documentation for audits. • Experience with software setup and optimization, particularly in accounting systems. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with auditors and team members.
