Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Boca Raton, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring accurate processing, and addressing employee inquiries with professionalism and efficiency. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll systems and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process payroll in adherence to scheduled cycles while ensuring accuracy and compliance.<br>• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing timely resolutions and documenting interactions as needed.<br>• Collaborate with facilities to clarify and resolve payroll discrepancies, deductions, and employee information issues.<br>• Partner with the Payroll Supervisor to tackle complex processing, tax, or system-related challenges.<br>• Manage garnishments, tax levies, and child support notices promptly and in accordance with regulations.<br>• Enter, analyze, and validate pay adjustments to ensure precise calculations.<br>• Review and balance payroll prior to final transmission to maintain data accuracy.<br>• Prepare check requests for pay periods, monthly or quarterly needs, and distribute checks as per facility specifications.<br>• File payroll documentation in appropriate employee files or payroll folders for record-keeping.<br>• Assist with special projects and tasks assigned by the Payroll Supervisor, contributing to team objectives.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification.<br>• A minimum of three to five years of experience in processing multi-state payroll.<br>• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with employees across all organizational levels.<br>• Proficiency in payroll and accounting software such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, and other related systems.<br>• Familiarity with benefit and retirement plan administration, including 401k and RRSP.<br>• Advanced proficiency in computer applications like Excel, Word, and query/report writing software.<br>• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
