We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Investment Accountant to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing complex investment portfolios, ensuring their accurate accounting and compliance with financial regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid background in investment accounting and a strong understanding of the financial services industry.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting tasks for diverse investment products, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, and derivatives.<br>• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliations and investment-related financial statements.<br>• Analyze portfolio activities to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.<br>• Collaborate with asset managers, custodians, and internal teams to ensure correct valuation and accounting treatment of investments.<br>• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards and reporting requirements for investment portfolios.<br>• Assist in preparing statutory and regulatory filings, ensuring all disclosures are accurate and timely.<br>• Provide documentation and respond to inquiries during audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.<br>• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.

• Proven experience in investment accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.<br>• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, including general ledger management and journal entries.<br>• Proficiency in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation procedures.<br>• Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards applicable to investment portfolios.<br>• Excellent analytical skills to evaluate portfolio performance and identify trends.<br>• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.<br>• Detail-oriented approach with exceptional organizational and time management skills.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
