We are looking for a detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Torrance, California. In this role, you will handle the credentialing needs for a group of healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with Medicare and commercial insurance requirements. This position also offers the opportunity to expand your skill set by gaining experience in medical billing through dedicated training. This position is part-time, 3 days/week (24 hours/week). Responsibilities:• Manage and maintain credentialing documentation for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with Medicare and commercial insurance requirements.• Prepare and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications in a timely and accurate manner.• Monitor the status of applications and follow up to resolve any issues or delays.• Collaborate with providers and insurance companies to address credentialing-related inquiries.• Ensure all necessary documentation is collected, reviewed, and updated as required for credentialing processes.• Support the team in maintaining accurate records and databases related to provider credentialing.• Assist in the transition to medical billing tasks by participating in training sessions.• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline credentialing workflows.• Stay informed about industry updates and regulatory changes impacting provider credentialing.• Contribute to the overall efficiency of credentialing operations through proactive problem-solving.

• Proven experience in credentialing, preferably in a healthcare setting. • Familiarity with Medicare and commercial insurance credentialing processes. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills for interacting with providers and insurance representatives. • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and databases. • Willingness to learn medical billing processes through training. • Knowledge of physician and provider credentialing standards is a plus.
