Sr. Insurance Accountant
<p>We are looking for a skilled Sr. Insurance Accountant to join our team in Sacramento, California, on a contract basis. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations for an insurance provider, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering accurate financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments while maintaining strong internal controls.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and analyze financial statements in line with practices prescribed by the California Department of Insurance.</p><p>• Ensure all accounting activities adhere to state and federal regulatory requirements.</p><p>• Conduct account reconciliations and generate reports for month-end and year-end financial closings.</p><p>• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to guarantee the accuracy of financial data.</p><p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support financial close processes.</p><p>• Manage journal entries and maintain the general ledger with precision.</p><p>• Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow reporting.</p><p>• Support compliance reporting and filings with regulatory agencies.</p><p>• Identify and address discrepancies in financial records promptly.</p><p>• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures and processes.</p>
• Proven experience in month-end closing processes and general ledger management.<br>• Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation.<br>• Expertise in bank reconciliations and financial reporting.<br>• Familiarity with regulatory compliance for insurance accounting.<br>• Ability to implement and monitor internal controls effectively.<br>• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.<br>• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
