We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join a team in New Brighton, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract opportunity for an individual with strong attention to detail and expertise in managing full-cycle payroll processes across multiple states. The role involves ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll operations while supporting corporate-level payroll services. Responsibilities:• Process full-cycle payroll for multiple companies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.• Support payroll operations during acquisitions, including onboarding new hires and managing data entry in payroll systems.• Conduct payroll tax filings, reporting, and reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll close processes, including reconciliations and liability account reviews.• Handle union payrolls and ensure proper setup and compliance with union agreements.• Prepare positive pay files and process child support payments in accordance with legal requirements.• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure payroll data ties accurately to the general ledger.• Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting for payroll system upgrades or transitions.• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction and trust.

• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll management, including multi-state payroll processing. • Proficiency with Ceridian or similar payroll systems. • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements. • Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation and how payroll integrates with accounting processes. • Experience managing union payrolls and handling complex tax structures. • Ability to handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll close processes efficiently. • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time-sensitive tasks. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and address employee inquiries.
