We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will ensure compliance with payroll reporting requirements, including certified payroll and prevailing wage laws. This position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and detail-oriented environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare and manage certified payroll reports to ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws. • Reconcile time cards and payroll records, resolving discrepancies efficiently. • Calculate fringe benefits and weighted overtime for employees across various job types. • Utilize payroll software to submit reports and monitor compliance standards. • Identify opportunities to optimize manual payroll processes and recommend improvements. • Ensure accurate reporting for multi-state employees and compliance with applicable regulations. • Collaborate with internal teams to address incomplete payroll reports and ensure timely submissions. • Maintain detailed and organized payroll documentation for auditing purposes. • Provide support during payroll audits and assist in resolving any issues that arise. • Stay informed on changes in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance.

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll compliance role. • Familiarity with prevailing wage laws, fringe benefits, and weighted overtime calculations. • Proficiency in payroll software and tools, such as Paychex Payroll and Microsoft Excel. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and compliance requirements. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage complex payroll data. • Certified Payroll certification is preferred. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
