Accounting Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract-to-permanent basis in Detroit, Michigan. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with basic accounting and data entry experience to contribute to day-to-day financial operations. The role requires adaptability, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic manufacturing environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.<br>• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger updates.<br>• Assist in month-end financial closing procedures.<br>• Audit monthly statements to ensure compliance and accuracy.<br>• Organize and maintain electronic filing systems for financial records.<br>• Facilitate the onboarding process for new vendors.<br>• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring proper distribution.<br>• Manage clerical tasks such as document preparation, filing, and sorting.<br>• Monitor document workflows to maintain smooth operational processes.<br>• Support other administrative and accounting tasks as assigned.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.<br>• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and QuickBooks.<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills.<br>• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.<br>• Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.<br>• Proven experience in accounts payable and account reconciliation.<br>• High school diploma or equivalent, with additional bookkeeping experience preferred.<br>• 2-5 years of relevant accounting or clerical experience.
