We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Coconut Grove, Florida. This role will involve overseeing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in construction draw reconciliations, budgets, and payments. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction accounting and demonstrate proficiency in handling general ledger tasks and month-end close activities. Responsibilities:• Review and reconcile construction draw budgets and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance.• Identify and categorize transactions within the accounts payable system and accounting software.• Perform month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial reports.• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.• Reconcile accounts and bank statements to verify the accuracy of financial data.• Analyze financial discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.• Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support.• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.• Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Construction industry experience. • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.• Strong knowledge of account and bank reconciliation procedures.• Familiarity with construction draw reconciliations and payment processes.• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.• Excellent organizational and communication skills.• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and systems.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
