We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will manage key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts reconciliation, financial reporting, and transaction processing, contributing to the organization's overall financial health. Responsibilities: • Generate and distribute detailed reports, including daily cash balance and balance sheet summaries. • Oversee account activity and execute daily wire transfers to maintain appropriate balances in designated settlement accounts. • Process and reconcile transactions related to MoneyGram services. • Perform accurate reconciliations for general ledger accounts. • Collaborate with management to prepare and post investment-related entries. • Compile financial statements for departmental review, incorporating variance analysis to identify trends. • Ensure compliance with financial protocols and maintain organized records of all activities. • Work closely with team members to address discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes. • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. • Experience with billing systems and procedures. • Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations. • Solid understanding of general accounting principles. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills. • Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
