Accounting Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Wells, Maine. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to support essential accounting operations while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, along with proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant tools.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in an accurate and timely manner.<br>• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are consistent and up-to-date.<br>• Accurately code invoices and verify proper documentation for payment processing.<br>• Assist in the preparation of financial proposals and reports to support decision-making.<br>• Utilize QuickBooks for maintaining and updating accounting records and generating financial statements.<br>• Administer Salesforce to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial data.<br>• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.<br>• Address and resolve discrepancies in financial data or transactions.<br>• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.<br>• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency.
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.<br>• Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with other accounting software.<br>• Strong understanding of bank reconciliation procedures and financial documentation.<br>• Ability to code invoices accurately and efficiently.<br>• Familiarity with Salesforce and its administrative functions.<br>• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with team members.<br>• Knowledge of standard accounting practices and principles.
