We are looking for an experienced Sr. Grant Accountant to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. This role is focused on ensuring accurate grant accounting and fund reconciliation within a non-profit organization. As a Contract position, you will play a key role in supporting critical financial processes and improving grant recognition practices. Responsibilities: • Review and reconcile grants, ensuring they are accurately tied to corresponding funds and purchase orders. • Collaborate with consultants and team members to implement improved accounting processes and systems. • Conduct detailed analysis of journal entries and trace grant allocations to ensure compliance with restrictions. • Assist in the reimplementation of Blackbaud Financial Edge, including the rollout of a new purchase order module. • Create and maintain comprehensive checklists for grant reconciliation tasks, ensuring all items are accounted for. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in fund accounting with attention to detail and accuracy. • Participate in discussions and team huddles to address historical accounting challenges and develop solutions. • Provide support in preparing for audits by ensuring all grant reconciliations are completed on time. • Work closely with the accounting team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • Proven experience in non-profit fund accounting and grant reconciliation. • Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge is preferred but not required. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to trace and verify complex financial transactions. • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. • Ability to collaborate with a team and communicate financial information clearly. • Prior experience working in a contract or project-based role is a plus. • Business casual dress code is required for the onsite setting.
