We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This role focuses on job costing, financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles and the ability to collaborate across departments to support financial decision-making and project success. Responsibilities: • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions. • Perform daily bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciling job cost accounts and preparing financial statements. • Maintain and update rolling forecasts, commission schedules, and sales tax provisions. • Monitor and analyze project costs, track variances, and prepare detailed job cost reports for management. • Collaborate with project managers to align job costs with budgets and timelines, offering insights to optimize project profitability. • Conduct financial analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. • Review vendor invoices and purchase orders, ensuring accurate allocation to projects. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data and improve accounting processes. • Prepare and deliver weekly financial reports to management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on job costing or project accounting. • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or NetSuite, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and job costing methodologies. • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across departments. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with financial reporting and tax regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
