Project Accountant
<p>We are looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in San Francisco, California. This position focuses on construction accounting, requiring a meticulous individual with a proactive approach to resolving billing discrepancies and implementing effective processes. The role offers an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team while contributing to the success of ongoing projects. This is a 2-3 week project for someone who has Construction Accounting and Billing background. It is 100% onsite in San Francisco. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Review and correct billing errors from previous months to ensure accurate project accounting.</p><p>• Develop and implement a streamlined billing process to minimize future discrepancies.</p><p>• Work closely with subcontractors and project managers to reconcile budgets and financial reports.</p><p>• Provide detailed financial analysis to support client meetings and project decisions.</p><p>• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with construction accounting standards.</p><p>• Utilize Excel to create and maintain financial models and reports.</p><p>• Assist with the transition of accounting systems, if applicable, to enhance operational efficiency.</p><p>• Ensure that all project-related financial documentation is accurate and up-to-date.</p><p>• Support the team in preparing for high-stakes client presentations.</p><p>• Monitor and report on project budgets to identify potential risks or opportunities.</p>
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting or project accounting.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manage complex spreadsheets.<br>• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.<br>• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Sage Intacct is preferred.<br>• Proven track record of quickly adapting to new processes and taking ownership of tasks.<br>• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients and team members.<br>• Knowledge of construction billing practices and standards.
