We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Montebello, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing lease accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for a nonprofit organization. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and experience in nonprofit accounting standards. Responsibilities: • Maintain and manage the organization's lease accounting portfolio, ensuring adherence to relevant standards such as ASC 842. • Identify and record lease-related assets and liabilities while preparing accurate journal entries. • Update and monitor lease schedules, including modifications, renewals, and terminations. • Collaborate with internal teams to gather complete and accurate information for lease accounting. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with nonprofit accounting principles. • Assist in preparing audit schedules and coordinate with auditors on lease-related disclosures. • Analyze lease impacts on financial statements and budgets, providing actionable insights. • Conduct monthly account reconciliations, including lease accounts and general ledger entries. • Oversee fixed asset accounting and support grant accounting and reporting as needed. • Partner with operational teams to integrate lease accounting into financial planning and enforce policies and controls.

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Ability to prepare journal entries and conduct thorough account reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and lease accounting standards such as ASC 842. • Proficiency in nonprofit accounting principles and regulations. • Familiarity with financial management software, particularly Abila MIP. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
