We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Staff Accountant to join a local healthcare accounting team in Louisville, Kentucky. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, a passion for healthcare finance, and a collaborative mindset to contribute effectively in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and manage accruals to ensure accurate financial records.• Execute month-end and quarter-end close processes, meeting deadlines and producing reliable financial statements.• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, focusing on home health and hospice service lines.• Collaborate with auditors by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.• Work closely with operations, financial planning, and cash disbursement teams to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize accounting workflows and enhance efficiency.• Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses as required.• Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley controls and corporate policies to maintain compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. • At least 1 year of general accounting experience; healthcare accounting or internships are a plus. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Oracle Fusion is advantageous. • Solid understanding of corporate tax and sales tax principles. • Experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance. • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively across teams.
