Accountant - Entry Level
We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky, and offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting while contributing to the department's operational goals. If you are passionate about numbers, eager to learn, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process accounts payable tasks, including invoice entry, vendor communication, and statement reviews.<br>• Manage accounts receivable functions such as invoicing, addressing customer inquiries, and handling collections.<br>• Set up item masters and apply manufacturing cost accounting principles, ensuring accurate variance tracking.<br>• Assist in preparing for and participating in both internal and external audits.<br>• Evaluate and refine operational processes to uphold efficiency and compliance standards.<br>• Conduct regular account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.<br>• Maintain accurate accounting entries and contribute to month-end closing activities.<br>• Collaborate on special projects and additional duties as assigned.<br>• Travel as needed up to 10% to support accounting operations or audits.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; candidates with 1-3 years of work experience are encouraged to apply.<br>• Familiarity with cost accounting principles is preferred.<br>• Proficiency in basic Excel functions is required.<br>• Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.<br>• Strong ability to perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.<br>• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.<br>• Effective communication skills for vendor and customer interactions.<br>• Willingness to travel up to 10% for business purposes.
