We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role involves managing business-to-business collections, primarily interacting with large insurance agencies. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days onsite and two days remote each week. Responsibilities: • Handle business-to-business collections, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances. • Communicate effectively with large insurance agencies to address and resolve payment discrepancies. • Monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue payments and initiate follow-up actions. • Utilize medical billing knowledge to review claims, appeals, and payment adjustments. • Interpret and apply medical terminology, CPT codes, and other relevant documentation during collections. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve collection outcomes. • Maintain accurate records of collection activities, payment statuses, and correspondence. • Provide exceptional customer service to resolve inquiries related to medical billing and insurance claims.

• Proven experience in medical collections, preferably in a business-to-business environment.• Strong understanding of medical billing, appeals, and insurance processes.• Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT codes.• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with insurance agencies.• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment.• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and deadlines effectively.• Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and documentation of collection activities.
