Staff Accountant
<p>We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will oversee a variety of financial tasks, including accurate reporting, compliance, and maintaining internal controls. You will work closely with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and contribute to the overall success of our hospitality-focused organization. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage daily cash operations, including audits, deposits, and reconciliation processes.</p><p>• Ensure strong internal controls are in place for purchasing, payroll, and asset management.</p><p>• Conduct timely reconciliations for accounts and credit card transactions.</p><p>• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.</p><p>• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and variance analyses.</p><p>• Support the budgeting process and contribute to forecasts.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards.</p><p>• Participate in team meetings and work on improving financial processes.</p><p>• Perform other accounting-related duties as needed.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.<br>• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in property or hospitality sectors.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting systems is a plus.<br>• Strong skills in corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation.<br>• Ability to handle journal entries and manage general ledger tasks effectively.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.<br>• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
