We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Gorham, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of general ledger activities and reconciliations. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports. • Manage and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. • Prepare and review journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity. • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain accuracy. • Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation. • Monitor financial activities to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies. • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. • Support the preparation of financial statements and related reports as needed.

• Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on month-end close processes. • Strong knowledge of general ledger activities and account reconciliations. • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries. • Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Familiarity with accounting standards and compliance requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. • Effective communication and collaboration abilities. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
