We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Arcadia, California, and focuses on supporting the finance department with essential accounting tasks, particularly accounts payable and invoice processing. Responsibilities:• Process and manage a large volume of accounts payable invoices to ensure accurate and timely payments.• Review and reconcile invoices, applying appropriate coding while resolving discrepancies with vendors.• Calculate and track sales tax and other applicable fees to maintain compliance.• Maintain up-to-date accounting records and assist with month-end closing procedures.• Use advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, for financial tracking and analysis.• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal staff to address inquiries related to payments and invoicing.• Provide administrative support to the finance team and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within municipal or public sector environments. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs. • Strong numerical and analytical skills for invoice verification and tax calculations. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Effective communication skills with a detail-oriented approach to vendor and staff interactions. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. • High school diploma required; an associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
