Project Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Annandale, Minnesota. This Contract to permanent employment opportunity offers a chance to contribute to the financial success of construction projects by ensuring accurate tracking, billing, and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will work closely with field personnel and the accounting department to maintain seamless processes and ensure project financials are managed effectively.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Monitor and reconcile work orders using customer web-based software to ensure accuracy and completion.<br>• Track project progress, ensuring milestones are met and financial records are updated accordingly.<br>• Prepare month-end accruals for specific accounts using Microsoft Excel and analyze financial data.<br>• Collaborate with field teams to gather and verify production records, including maps and redlines, ensuring proper documentation.<br>• Oversee and maintain customer accounts to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.<br>• Assist with month-end account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.<br>• Investigate variances within project financials and approve expenses to maintain budgetary compliance.<br>• Issue project invoices, follow up on payments, and resolve any discrepancies that arise.<br>• Perform additional tasks and provide support to the Accounting Department as needed.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is essential.<br>• Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages with accuracy.<br>• At least one year of experience in accounting or a related field.<br>• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.<br>• Familiarity with billing processes and resolving account discrepancies.<br>• Experience with month-end close procedures and cash reconciliations.<br>• Knowledge of job costing and monthly accruals is preferred.
