We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing accounts payable operations and supporting key accounting functions during a critical period for the organization. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Perform bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries to support financial reporting. • Handle month-end close procedures, ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks. • Collaborate with other team members to maintain smooth financial operations. • Assist with system transitions, including the implementation of accounting software. • Ensure all accounting functions are performed in a timely and precise manner. • Contribute to project-based work to support organizational goals. • Utilize accounting tools and software, including Great Plains, to enhance efficiency. • Maintain thorough documentation and records for all financial activities. • Provide support in addressing and resolving any discrepancies or issues in financial processes.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting. • Proficiency in bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end accounting procedures. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook. • Experience with accounting software, with preference for Great Plains. • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities. • Experience in the construction industry is a plus. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the team.
