Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Stratford, Connecticut. In this role, you will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely invoice processing, and supporting essential accounting functions. This is a long-term contract position ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounts payable and a commitment to efficiency.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process invoices with precision, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the system.<br>• Address and resolve any backlog issues, effectively organizing and filing outstanding documents.<br>• Conduct check runs and ensure all payments are processed accurately and on schedule.<br>• Maintain orderly and up-to-date financial records to support internal audits and compliance.<br>• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts payable procedures and improve efficiency.<br>• Review and verify account coding for transactions to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.<br>• Utilize software tools to manage accounts payable tasks and support operational needs.<br>• Assist with reconciling discrepancies and resolving vendor inquiries promptly.<br>• Support the overall accounting team by contributing to special projects and initiatives as needed.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.<br>• Proficiency in coding invoices and managing account records with a high degree of accuracy.<br>• Strong knowledge of check runs and other payment processes.<br>• Familiarity with accounts payable systems and tools.<br>• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.<br>• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.<br>• Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
