Staff Accountant
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Springfield, Ohio, this position provides an exciting opportunity to manage critical financial functions, including accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and process improvements within a collaborative team environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage and oversee accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections.<br>• Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.<br>• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including sales tax filings, to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.<br>• Create and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting and month-end close procedures.<br>• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.<br>• Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and enhance operational efficiency.<br>• Ensure strict confidentiality of financial information and uphold organizational standards.<br>• Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel to prepare detailed reports and analyses.<br>• Support audits and compliance reviews by providing necessary documentation and insights.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.<br>• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with a preference for experience in nonprofit finance.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.<br>• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.<br>• Self-motivated and dependable, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.<br>• Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining strict confidentiality.<br>• Familiarity with corporate and sales tax regulations is highly desirable.
