Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in data analysis, problem-solving, and system accuracy. As part of the manufacturing industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial data integrity and supporting accurate reporting.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review and upload large data sets into designated systems, identifying and resolving any errors that may arise.<br>• Conduct thorough research to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.<br>• Analyze data patterns and trends to support decision-making and improve reporting processes.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.<br>• Reconcile accounts and ensure all financial records align with corporate standards.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, to streamline data analysis.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address discrepancies and improve data workflows.<br>• Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and sales tax filings.<br>• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and corporate policies.<br>• Support system updates and enhancements to maintain accurate reporting capabilities.
• Proven experience in accounting roles within the manufacturing industry or similar fields.<br>• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.<br>• Familiarity with corporate tax returns and sales tax processes.<br>• Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately.<br>• Solid understanding of general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.<br>• Exceptional analytical skills to identify trends and resolve data issues.<br>• Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.<br>• Experience working with large data sets and financial systems.
