We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Maine on a contract basis. This role involves managing key financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail and a proven ability to handle complex accounting tasks. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion. • Maintain and update the general ledger, verifying all entries are recorded correctly. • Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy across financial records. • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed. • Utilize accounting systems such as IDS to manage financial data. • Support audit processes by gathering and organizing required documentation. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related inquiries. • Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures. • Familiarity with accounting systems, including IDS. • Experience supporting audit processes and managing documentation. • Excellent analytical skills for financial data interpretation. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
