Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Maine on a contract basis. This role involves managing key financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail and a proven ability to handle complex accounting tasks.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.<br>• Maintain and update the general ledger, verifying all entries are recorded correctly.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions.<br>• Perform account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy across financial records.<br>• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.<br>• Utilize accounting systems such as IDS to manage financial data.<br>• Support audit processes by gathering and organizing required documentation.<br>• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related inquiries.<br>• Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.<br>• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.<br>• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures.<br>• Familiarity with accounting systems, including IDS.<br>• Experience supporting audit processes and managing documentation.<br>• Excellent analytical skills for financial data interpretation.<br>• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
