Bookkeeper
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Portland, Maine. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who can manage financial records with accuracy and ensure seamless day-to-day operations within the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and a thorough understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.<br>• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.<br>• Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify and balance financial accounts.<br>• Generate financial reports to assist in decision-making and provide insights into company performance.<br>• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve workflow.<br>• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial records or transactions.<br>• Manage vendor and customer accounts, including invoicing and payment tracking.<br>• Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial data into accounting systems.<br>• Support audits and financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and insights.<br>• Stay updated on best practices and regulations related to bookkeeping and financial management.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software.<br>• Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.<br>• Expertise in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.<br>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.<br>• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.<br>• Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis.<br>• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information responsibly.
