<p>We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join a reputable non-profit organization in Oakland, California.</p><p><br></p><p>This Contract-to-hire position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while showcasing your extensive non-profit accounting and leadership expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit accounting and a proven ability to manage accounting teams and various financial tasks with precision.</p><p><br></p><p>This role will become hybrid after an initial onsite training period. Work will be performed onsite in Oakland, California.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Monitor and manage revenue contracts and grants, including customer invoicing and documentation preparation.</p><p>• Track daily cash transactions and bank balances, providing weekly cash flow and disbursement updates to senior financial staff.</p><p>• Handle banking activities, including processing stop payments, making deposits, and creating wire transactions for approval.</p><p>• Reconcile bank statements against organizational records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.</p><p>• Prepare and manage invoices, billing, and receivable journal entries for various revenue streams such as grants and medical billing.</p><p>• Oversee collections and revenue recovery efforts, including funds drawdowns, reconciliations, and cost reimbursements.</p><p>• Create detailed financial reports for specific funding sources, programs, and departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</p><p>• Set up and maintain new bank accounts, ensuring appropriate access levels are granted and approved.</p><p>• Assist with additional non-profit specific accounting and financial tasks as assigned, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.</p>

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a non-profit organization.<br>• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in billing functions and account reconciliations.<br>• Strong knowledge of grant and fund accounting specific to non-profits.<br>• Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles and their application in non-profit settings.<br>• Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to ensure effective financial reporting.<br>• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
