We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client on a contract basis in San Ramon, California. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our year-end financial close and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a manufacturing environment and contribute to key financial processes. Responsibilities: • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts accurately and within established deadlines.• Oversee the restructuring of the Chart of Accounts by renaming, renumbering, and consolidating account categories to align with operational and reporting standards.• Ensure prepaid and deferral accounts are reconciled, adjustments are completed, and schedules are established for future reporting periods.• Review and reconcile General Ledger accounts related to instrument leases and loaners, and provide guidance and training to the team as needed.• Conduct a thorough year-end expenditure review to ensure accurate posting and compliance with accounting regulations.• Audit 1099 vendor statements, prepare necessary documentation, and manage the filing process for the current tax year.• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager to clean up and reconcile inventory records, ensuring accurate alignment with QuickBooks.• Review and verify the accuracy of inventory item setups and ensure proper organization within the accounting system.• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for year-end close.• Assist with other ad hoc accounting tasks as required to meet organizational goals. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in manufacturing. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is essential. • Strong understanding of General Ledger management and Chart of Accounts. • Exceptional skills in financial analysis, reconciliation, and auditing. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis. • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
