Accounting Specialist
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Northborough, Massachusetts. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and inventory management. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently manage financial data and contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process accounts payable by matching purchase orders to invoices, resolving discrepancies, and accurately coding transactions for entry into QuickBooks.<br>• Manage accounts receivable functions, including posting deposits, conducting collection calls, and processing refunds.<br>• Prepare and issue invoices for sales and webstore orders, ensuring accuracy in quantities, pricing, freight charges, and billing details.<br>• Track and manage customer returns, calculate re-stocking fees, and maintain accurate records of return merchandise authorizations (RMAs).<br>• Coordinate inventory for offsite locations, including issuing contracts, monitoring returns, and maintaining records for trade shows, prototypes, and repairs.<br>• Oversee the leasing and finance program by performing credit checks, preparing finance packets, and sending payment reminders.<br>• Support office operations by ordering supplies, supervising cleaning services, and organizing annual events.<br>• Assist with check processing, filing paperwork, and mailing checks as needed.
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.<br>• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop for financial data management.<br>• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.<br>• Experience in billing and invoicing with a focus on accuracy and compliance.<br>• Knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures.<br>• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage various responsibilities.<br>• Strong communication skills for handling collection calls and customer interactions.<br>• Ability to work on-site during standard business hours.
