Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and manage crucial financial operations at our manufacturing facility in Memphis, Tennessee. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring accurate accounting processes, financial reporting, and inventory management for the plant. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to drive efficiency, compliance, and informed decision-making. Responsibilities:• Collect, analyze, and input daily and monthly plant production and operational accounting data.• Reconcile daily plant inventories and establish appropriate reserves.• Process plant invoices, match and code data, and resolve accounts payable issues.• Lead physical inventory activities, including assigning, observing counts, and reconciling results.• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.• Evaluate plant expenditures and compare them against budgeted amounts.• Prepare and present financial results to senior leadership alongside the Plant Manager.• Develop annual manufacturing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with plant leadership.• Create bills of materials and routings/recipes for new products.• Ensure compliance with established internal controls and inventory management practices.

• Proven expertise in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting and plant operations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel. • Strong understanding of general accounting principles. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines independently. • Effective time management and prioritization skills. • Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus.
