We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lithia, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will manage and oversee the accounts payable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while adhering to company policies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading steel manufacturing company. Responsibilities: • Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness. • Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts to ensure proper documentation and compliance. • Process payments using ACH, check runs, or other approved methods in alignment with company policies. • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies related to invoices or payments. • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address and resolve payment issues. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing required reports and reconciliations. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies during all payable processes. • Provide documentation and support for audits as needed. • Identify and implement process improvements within accounts payable workflows to enhance efficiency.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting systems. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes. • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage tasks effectively. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with three-way matching processes is preferred. • Knowledge of sales/use tax and reporting regulations is a plus.
