We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lee's Summit, Missouri, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with attention to detail and expertise in financial reporting and reconciliation processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate accounting practices and supporting month-end close activities.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all financial reports.<br>• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect accurate financial data.<br>• Reconcile accounts and bank statements to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.<br>• Conduct audits and reviews to validate financial records and ensure adherence to internal controls.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel formulas to analyze and manipulate financial data effectively.<br>• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all accounting activities.<br>• Support ad hoc financial reporting requests and projects as needed.

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.<br>• Expertise in account reconciliation and bank statement analysis.<br>• Familiarity with auditing practices and internal controls.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis.<br>• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
