We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring payroll processes run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately for a large, multi-state employee base. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with two days onsite, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:• Oversee full-cycle payroll processes for over 2,000 employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with all regulations.• Validate payroll data, including tax calculations and deductions, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.• Utilize a software for payroll processing and reporting, ensuring seamless system operation.• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, providing clear communication and solutions to employees.• Collaborate with management to prepare payroll reports and analytics for strategic decision-making.• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations.• Manage payroll during high-demand periods, maintaining efficiency and accuracy under tight deadlines.• Provide expertise on multi-state payroll requirements and processes, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.• Work independently as the sole payroll specialist in the department, managing all aspects of payroll operations.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.• Proficiency in payroll systems.• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and tax compliance.• Experience managing payroll for over 500 employees, demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy.• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to address payroll inquiries.• Familiarity with payroll system transitions and implementation is a plus.
