We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Encinitas, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial aspects of various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout their lifecycle. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with expertise in project accounting and a strong understanding of specialized billing and financial reporting.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Support Project Managers in overseeing the financial lifecycle of projects, from initiation to closeout.<br>• Set up and manage projects, amendments, and extra work orders within Deltek Vision, adhering to contract specifications.<br>• Assist in drafting and processing contracts while ensuring compliance with accounting requirements.<br>• Conduct thorough reviews of project labor and expenses to ensure accurate financial postings.<br>• Address and resolve billing-related issues efficiently, maintaining clear communication throughout.<br>• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Directors to ensure consistent financial reporting and client billing.<br>• Prepare and issue monthly invoices to clients, ensuring timely delivery.<br>• Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, vendors, and staff, providing accurate information.<br>• Generate accounts receivable statements and follow up on overdue invoices to maintain cash flow.<br>• Manage project audits and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Deltek Vision and Costpoint.<br>• Strong experience in accounts receivable and project billing processes.<br>• Familiarity with Work In Progress (WIP) and specialized client billing.<br>• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.<br>• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.<br>• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and billing.<br>• Ability to analyze and resolve financial discrepancies efficiently.<br>• Previous experience in project accounting or a similar role is required.
