Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Elyria, Ohio, on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in financial management and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in accounting processes. Join us in supporting the waste and environmental management industry through effective financial operations.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.<br>• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Coordinate and schedule financial meetings with the Controller to discuss accounting workflows and updates.<br>• Assist in year-end financial processes, including preparing necessary documentation and reviewing reports.<br>• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making.<br>• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to maintain financial integrity.<br>• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.<br>• Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.<br>• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.<br>• Familiarity with year-end accounting practices and financial reporting standards.<br>• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.<br>• Ability to work independently while coordinating with team members when needed.<br>• Strong communication skills to facilitate meetings and collaborate with the Controller.<br>• Experience in the waste management or environmental sectors is a plus.
