Property Accountant
<p>We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant for a property management client in South Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will take the lead on essential accounting functions for hotel properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and operations while contributing to the financial success of our organization. This will be 100% onsite, Monday - Friday, please do not apply if you are not local to Charlotte and able to go onsite full-time. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare monthly operational and management reports for internal review, including balance sheet account analysis and bank reconciliations.</p><p>• Oversee cash management processes and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations.</p><p>• Monitor monthly operating results and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.</p><p>• Review and suggest improvements to accounting policies and procedures in line with industry standards.</p><p>• Collaborate with operations leadership and property-level teams to support hotel operations and procurement.</p><p>• Participate in preopening activities for new properties, ensuring proper implementation of accounting processes and procedures.</p><p>• Assist in preparing annual financial statements in compliance with US accounting standards and provide necessary documentation for audits.</p><p>• Ensure annual 1099 compliance for applicable vendors and assist with tax filings.</p>
<p>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; a master's degree is preferred.</p><p>• At least 5 years of general accounting experience, including leading small accounting teams.</p><p>• Proficiency in property accounting, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.</p><p>• Experience in hospitality, commercial real estate, or construction industries is preferred.</p><p>• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.</p><p>• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software; familiarity with Acumatica is a plus. </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems proactively, with a focus on process improvement.</p>
