Staff Accountant
<p>We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to manage essential financial operations, including reporting, compliance, and budgeting, while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with leadership and contribute to the organization’s financial strategy.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities to ensure accurate financial operations.</p><p>• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.</p><p>• Develop budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances to ensure financial goals are met.</p><p>• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations, ensuring proper documentation and adherence.</p><p>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to optimize financial workflows.</p><p>• Coordinate audits and financial reviews, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.</p><p>• Monitor and manage cash flow, including vendor payments and collections.</p><p>• Reconcile credit card transactions and post journal entries to maintain updated financial records.</p>
<p>• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</p><p>• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.</p><p>• Strong expertise in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting regulations.</p><p>• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing cash flow.</p><p>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems such as Unanet.</p><p>• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</p><p>• Ability to lead and motivate accounting teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.</p><p>• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.</p>
