Director
<p>We are looking for a highly motivated Director to oversee and advance our Cyberinfrastructure (CI) initiatives in Northern, Virginia. This role will require a strategic thinker with a strong technical background to lead a dynamic team and drive innovative solutions in networking, computing, storage, cybersecurity, and software. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping CI strategies, fostering collaboration, and enhancing research and education capabilities.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to align Cyberinfrastructure operations with organizational goals.</p><p>• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with IT staff to effectively assess and address CI needs.</p><p>• Research, identify, and implement emerging technologies to strengthen CI support for research and education.</p><p>• Coordinate with regional networks and stakeholders to improve CI-enabled research initiatives.</p><p>• Prepare proposals and oversee the management of federally funded CI projects to ensure their success.</p><p>• Lead, mentor, and supervise the Cyberinfrastructure team, fostering growth and accountability.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.<br>• At least 5 years of experience working with Cyberinfrastructure technologies, including direct hands-on expertise.<br>• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience within CI or science-related disciplines.<br>• Proficiency in collaboration, communication, and strategic planning to drive organizational success.<br>• Knowledge of deskside support, deployments, computer hardware, backup technologies, and Cisco systems.<br>• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within specified timelines.
