We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Valley City, Ohio. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in construction accounting and a solid understanding of QuickBooks Desktop. You will play a key role in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other essential financial tasks. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. • Take ownership of accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and payment collection. • Match invoices to purchase orders and verify supporting documentation. • Assist with payroll tasks and gradually take on payroll-related responsibilities. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date. • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for reporting purposes. • Collaborate with team members to address billing and accounting queries. • Use QuickBooks Desktop to execute daily accounting operations and maintain accurate data. • Support construction-specific accounting processes and procedures. • Contribute to continuous improvement in financial workflows.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop software. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Familiarity with payroll functions and willingness to learn. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to match invoices to purchase orders and manage supporting documentation. • Effective communication skills for collaboration within the team. • Experience in account reconciliation and general accounting practices.
