We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Rosa, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling complex reconciliations, analyzing detailed payroll data, and supporting crucial month-end and quarter-end closing activities. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, advanced accounting skills, and the ability to manage large datasets effectively.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform thorough reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Compare and reconcile financial data between legacy QuickBooks systems and current platforms to maintain consistency.<br>• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by identifying their source and implementing solutions.<br>• Analyze extensive payroll data, including historical records, to support capitalization efforts.<br>• Contribute to the successful completion of month-end and quarter-end close processes, meeting deadlines for closing October and the quarter.<br>• Assist with cleanup, validation, and reconciliation tasks related to organizational systems.<br>• Prepare accurate journal entries and maintain detailed financial records.<br>• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and macros, to streamline accounting processes.<br>• Support bank reconciliation processes and ensure proper documentation.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in reconciliation tasks.<br>• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables; familiarity with macros is a plus.<br>• Demonstrated ability to analyze and work with large datasets effectively.<br>• Experience with month-end and quarter-end closing processes.<br>• Strong general ledger and journal entry expertise.<br>• Hands-on experience with payroll data analysis and capitalization support.<br>• Previous exposure to organizational accounting systems is an advantage.<br>• Detail-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
