We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor inquiries, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an organized and efficient accounts payable process while collaborating with various departments. Responsibilities: • Respond to vendor inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department personnel when necessary. • Scan and accurately input invoices into the accounting system for proper record-keeping. • Prepare accounts payable checks by processing check requests, obtaining payment approvals, and generating checks using financial systems. • Handle product invoice processing using a three-way match system, resolving discrepancies with department staff. • Generate and maintain accurate accounts payable reports and organize all related files. • Support monthly financial closings by maintaining accounts payable logs and ensuring timely entries. • Assist with year-end financial audits by providing required documentation and support. • Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounts payable and finance teams.

• Proficiency in account coding and working with accounting software systems.• Familiarity with ERP systems and their role in financial processes.• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and practices.• Knowledge of auditing processes and procedures, including year-end audits.• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment processing.• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
