We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end activities. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records. • Conduct detailed reconciliations for accounts, including bank statements and other financial reports. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, maintaining efficiency and accuracy. • Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met. • Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate transactions. • Collaborate with internal teams to review donations and ensure proper accounting procedures. • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management review. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. • Provide support during busy periods, such as year-end reporting.

• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
